Barbera d'Asti DOCG 2018 LA CAPLANA

Description
Intense ruby red in the glass, with delicate violet reflections. The nose is rich in red fruits, among which cherries and plums predominate, then embellished with subtle balsamic nuances and light aromas of undergrowth. The palate is dynamic and full-bodied, balanced between freshness and alcohol, of good length.
Excellent with all meals, it goes particularly well with pasta dishes with structured sauces, such as a good risotto with porcini mushrooms and mature cheeses.

Family history
The Guido family has been dedicated to grape growing and wine production for a century. In 1925, thanks to the technique of American grafting, our grandparents saved the vineyards from the terrible phylloxera. In the 1960s, despite the gradual desertion of the campaigns, our father continued to work tirelessly on them his lands.

Philosophy

The vineyards, located in the highest hills dedicated to the production of Gavi and Dolcetto di Ovada, have considerable difficulties of cultivation because of the significant slopes of the soil, this hilly shape combined with the nature white earth loamy and ultra-formal screws, give us our characteristic wines of richness, body and intensity aromatic products that last over time. The elegant female figures depicted on our labels are freely inspired by the portraits of women by the famous artist Amedeo Modigliani (Livorno 1884-Paris 1920).
