Le Volte dell'Ornellaia is located in one of the most suitable areas of Tuscany, in the heart of the Bolgheri DOC.
It comes from a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese grapes, harvested separately and slowly, variety by variety, bunch by bunch, between the end of August and the first half of October. The vinification takes place separately for the different vines inside small steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation follows, also in steel, and aging for 10 months in barriques that had previously been used for Ornellaia.
Le Volte dell'Ornellaia appears in the glass of an intense and concentrated ruby red color. The nose features fresh and crunchy notes of black cherry, blackberry and red-fleshed fruit. It is a succulent and powerful wine, complex and structured, with a tannic texture, in the total absence of edges or hardness.
